In the time since I first began handling long-form dialog editing, there have been a lot of titles that have gone “under the knife” (my butchers’ knife). This kind of niche work has taken me into audiobook production, podcast mixing & editing, and even DVD commentary recording. I’ve heard so many stories and met talent from all over the USA—as well as a Canadian or two!

Something I haven’t usually done though is toot my own horn about it, because I prefer to approach my role here like that of an offensive lineman in football: glory goes to the playmakers—aka, the author & voice talent—because I was there to block for them; making it sound good is just my job.

...But as home studios built during quarantine begin producing more content? Well that’s a whole new draft class of future stars needing to find an O-Line to block for them.
